Luggage
Amongst the crucial things on board are the right clothes, including sturdy shoes, your ID and a sleeping bag and a bed sheet. Your clothes should be robust enough to even work the sails, if it’s raining.
By the rule of thumb: At sea on average the temperature can be 5 ° C. less than on land.
For storage of luggage travel bags are the most suitable. Suitcases are very difficult to store on board.
Packing list:
- Sleeping bag
- Bedsheet
- Dishtowel
- Identity card or passport (for Denmark, Poland, Sweden)
Furthermore useful is:
- Robust and warm clothes. At sea, it can sometimes be cold and stormy. In the summer, especially on night watch. Make sure to include gloves, scarf and hat, long underwear (except in midsummer), thick sweater and pants too.
- Rainwear (rain jacket and rain pants)
- Sunglasses, sunscreen and sun hat, if necessary
- Swimwear
- Earplugs :)
- Binoculars
- Camera
- Flashlight
- Pocket knife
